His role in Science at the Environment Agency involves managing air pollution research within the Agency, as well researching uncertainty and decision making related to environmental models. He has over 30 years experience of modelling air quality over local and regional scales and has published 100+ papers on these subjects. He is a member of the UK Air Quality Expert Group. He was chairman of COST 715 on Meteorology Applied to Urban Air Pollution Problems. Between 1994-2000 he was Professor of Environmental Modelling at the University of Greenwich, and is currently a visiting Professor at the Universities of Greenwich and Hertfordshire. |

Roger Barrowcliffe has worked in the field of air quality for nearly 20 years, firstly with the (then) Central Electricity Generating Board and with Environmental Resources Management since 1989. Much of his work is for industry, but he also carries out technical policy studies for clients such as the Environment Agency and has, in the past, worked on international development projects in China and the Middle East. Within air quality management, his experience encompasses dispersion modelling and ambient air quality monitoring. At the present time, he has a particular interest in the health effects of air pollution. Roger is also a Chartered Meteorologist. |

Clare Beattie is a Senior Consultant with Air Quality Consultants, previously having spent many years with the Air Quality Management Resource Centre, UWE. She has extensive experience in working on various air quality management projects, including review and assessments, air quality strategies, air quality action plans and Local Transport Plans. She provides assistance to the UK Governments through the Review & Assessment support provided to the UK Governments, and has developed guidance documents on air quality management on behalf of central government, local government and NGOs. |

David has worked for Bristol City Council on air quality matters since May 1976. He has also been involved with NSCA for many years at both national and local levels. He has served on the Air Quality Committee since its formation and is currently Chair of the South West Division of the Society.David’s specialist work area is atmospheric particles. He completed a part time PhD at the University of the West of England on this subject in 2003 and has subsequently given papers at international conferences and also published a number of papers. |

Ian is the Senior Technical Manager in TRLs energy, emissions and air pollution team, is a TRL research fellow and the Science manager for TRLS Centre for Sustainability. Ian has worked in the air pollution, energy and emissions team at the Transport Research Laboratory for over 20 years. This has involved the development of air pollution monitoring networks, and the measurement and modeling of vehicle emissions and air quality. Ian's main area of interest is in the relationship between vehicle operation, emissions and air quality and has thus been involved in the measurement of real world driving characteristics and their impact on in-service exhaust emissions, fuel and energy consumption. He previously participated in the DfT project sustainable development of Heathrow (PSDH) and is currently a member of Defra’s Air Quality Expert Group, coordinator of the DGTREN ARTEMIS project aimed at developing emission, energy and fuel consumption models for road, rail, air and shipping. He is currently involved in the revision of UK road transport emission factors, the development of micro-simulation emission modeling tools, the assessment of tunnel air quality and is the UK representative on COST Action 356, concentrating on sustainable transport. |

Stephen is a Director of Air Quality Consultants with over 30 years experience in the field of environmental sciences. He has considerable experience associated with assessments related to a variety of development projects, including power stations, incinerators, road scheme, airports etc. He has previously been responsible for managing a number of high-profile projects on behalf of Government including the operation of the UK automatic monitoring networks and research into particle numbers and concentrations. He has contributed to the development of air quality management in the UK, and has been closely involved with the LAQM process since its inception, most recently acting as lead author on the Technical Guidance documents. He has participated in a number of Government expert panels including QUARG, AQEG and the Project for the Sustainable Development of Heathrow. He is the chair of Environmental Protection UK’s air quality committee, and is a member of Council. |

Sofia works at Transport & Travel Research Ltd (TTR), as part of the air quality and climate change team. Her work includes low emissions strategy feasibility studies, air quality action planning and clean vehicle technology demonstration projects. Sofia has previously worked for CERC and the Environment Agency, and has experience in dispersion modelling and assessment, LAQM and emissions inventory compilation. |
